Privacy Policy

1. What data we collect

When you register an account on netadm.pro Wiki, we store the following information:

  • Username — your unique login identifier.
  • Display name — the name shown next to your articles and comments.
  • Email address — used only for account verification and password recovery.
  • Password — stored as a one-way bcrypt hash. We never store or have access to your plain-text password.
  • Passkey credential (optional) — if you choose to register with a passkey (FIDO2/WebAuthn), the public key is stored. Your private key never leaves your device.
  • Date and time of registration.

2. Optional profile data

After registration, you may voluntarily add the following to your public profile. This data is entirely optional and is never required:

  • Avatar image.
  • Messenger and social network links (Telegram, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X).
  • Personal website URL.

Any information you add to your profile is publicly visible to all visitors of the site. Do not add data you do not wish to share publicly.

3. How we use your email

Your email address is used exclusively for:

  • Sending a one-time verification code when you register, to confirm the address exists.
  • Sending a password reset link if you request one.

We do not send newsletters, marketing messages, notifications, or any other unsolicited email. Ever. Your inbox is yours.

4. Cookies and sessions

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. This cookie contains only a random session identifier — no personal data is stored in it. The cookie expires after 30 days of inactivity. No third-party tracking or analytics cookies are used.

5. Data sharing and third parties

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties. Your data stays on our servers and is not transferred to advertising networks, data brokers, or any external services.

6. Data retention and deletion

Your account data is kept for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated personal data by contacting the site administrator. Upon deletion, your username, email, password hash, and passkey credentials are permanently removed. Articles and comments you have authored may be retained in anonymised form or removed at the administrator's discretion.

7. Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data: passwords are hashed with bcrypt, sessions use random tokens, and the site is served over HTTPS. However, no system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password and keep your passkey device safe.

8. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
